How to play Wall Runner
Wall Runner is a two-player race on a nine by nine courtyard. Your pawn starts in the middle of one edge and must reach any square on the opposite edge before your rival does. On your turn you do one thing: step to a neighbouring square, or drop one of your walls into a groove to block the way.
Walls are two squares long, stay where they fall and can never overlap or cross. You also may not place a wall that leaves either pawn without a route to its goal, so every wall is a choice between a short detour for the rival and a turn you did not spend running. When pawns meet face to face you may jump over the other pawn, or step around it when a wall or the edge is behind it.
Play an easy, medium or hard bot, or pass the screen to a friend. Choose the classic ten walls each or a quick game with six. The status bar always shows how many steps each side still needs, undo takes back your last turn, and a hint shows a strong move (the first one in every game is free, more can be earned by watching a short video). Your record, win streak and fastest win per level are saved on your device.
Controls
Click a glowing square to step. Wall button, then click a groove to place a wall. Arrows step, W wall mode, R rotate, Enter place, U undo, H hint.

FAQ
How do I win?
Move your pawn onto any square of the opposite edge first. The goal row is tinted in your colour.
Can I block my rival completely?
No. A wall is refused if it would leave either pawn with no path to its goal. The game tells you when a wall is not allowed and why.
How does jumping work?
If the other pawn is directly next to you, you may jump over it. If a wall or the edge is behind it, you may step to either side of it instead.
How strong are the bots?
Easy mostly walks its shortest route with a few random walls, medium looks two turns ahead, and hard looks three turns ahead and thinks for up to a second or so.
Is Wall Runner free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on my phone?
