How to play Star Checkers
Star Checkers is a marble race on a star-shaped board of 121 holes. Each colour starts with ten marbles in one point of the star and has to bring all of them to the opposite point before anyone else does. On your turn you move one marble: either one step to a neighbouring hole, or a jump over any marble next to it, yours or a rival's, into the empty hole straight behind it. Jumps can be chained, so a well-built ladder of marbles carries a piece across the board in a single move. Nothing is ever captured.
Play 2, 3, 4 or 6 colours. Choose how many seats are people and the rest are bots with three strengths: Easy makes mistakes, Normal plays a solid race, Hard looks one move ahead and avoids leaving ladders for you. Pass and play works on one screen for up to six people. A rival cannot block your finish: a full point with at least one of your marbles counts.
Tap or click a marble and a glowing hole, or drag the marble. Use hints and undo when you are stuck, and play with the keyboard if you like. Your games, wins per bot level, longest jump chain and fewest moves to win are saved on your device.

FAQ
How do jumps work?
Hop over any single marble next to your marble, yours or a rival's, into the empty hole directly behind it. You can keep hopping with the same marble in the same turn and stop whenever you like. No marble is captured.
How many players can play?
2, 3, 4 or 6 colours. You choose how many are people sharing the screen; the rest are bots with Easy, Normal or Hard strength.
Can a rival block my finish?
No. If all ten holes of your target point are full and at least one of them holds your marble, you win, so a rival marble left there cannot stop you.
Does the game end if nobody finishes?
Yes, after 120 moves per colour the game ends and the player closest to finishing is named the leader. In practice most games end well before that.
What are hints and undo?
Each game gives you 3 hints and 3 undos. When they run out you can watch an optional video for 2 more, or just carry on without.
Is Star Checkers free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. It runs on phones, tablets and computers. Tap a marble, then one of the glowing holes it can reach, or drag the marble there. Hint, Undo and Menu buttons are under the board.
