How to play Aquarium Idle
Aquarium Idle is a calm collecting game about a tank full of fish. Your fish swim around and drop coins. Swipe the pointer or a finger over the coins on the sand to collect them, or buy a helper snail that picks them up for you.
Fish are the heart of the game. Buy an egg and watch a baby grow into a young fish and then an adult, faster when you feed it. Send two adults to the nest and the egg gets traits from both parents: red and yellow can give orange, blue and yellow can give green, and a rare mutation brings golden or pearl fish. Every new colour, pattern, body and fin enters your fish book and adds a permanent income bonus.
Keep the water clean, decorate each tank with backdrops, plants, rocks, a centrepiece and a bubbler, upgrade the filter, feeder and hatchery lamp, and build a second and third tank. Your fish keep earning while you are away, and an optional video doubles what they earned. Progress is saved on your device.
Controls
Mouse: move over the coins to collect them, click a fish or a button. Keys: F feed, C clean the glass, M sound, 1 to 5 switch tabs, Esc menu.
Swipe a finger over the coins to collect them, tap a fish to select it, and use the Fish, Nest, Shop, Decor and Book tabs below the tank.
FAQ
How do I earn coins?
Fish drop coins as they swim. Swipe over them to collect them, or buy the helper snail to do it for you. Adult fish earn the most; rarer colours and shapes earn more.
How does breeding work?
Open the Nest tab and pick two adult fish. After about 40 seconds an egg hatches into a baby with traits from both parents, a colour mix of the two, or a rare mutation. The parents rest for a while afterwards.
What do the decorations do?
Each kind gives its tank a bonus: backdrops and the centrepiece raise income, plants speed up growth, rocks speed up breeding and the bubbler raises mutation luck. Buy a style once, then switch freely.
Do I earn while I am away?
Yes. Your fish earn at half speed for up to one hour (more with the Night light upgrade). When you return you can collect it, or watch an optional video to double it.
Is Aquarium Idle free?
Yes. It is free to play in your browser, with no download and no account.
Can I play on my phone?
Yes. It runs on phones, tablets and computers. Swipe a finger over the coins to collect them, tap a fish to select it, and use the Fish, Nest, Shop, Decor and Book tabs below the tank.
